Knee Care in Turkayamjal, Hyderabad

Focused evaluation and care for the knee — the body's largest and most stressed weight-bearing joint.

The Knee

The knee connects the thigh bone (femur), shin bone (tibia) and kneecap (patella), supported by ligaments, cartilage and tendons. It endures constant load through walking, climbing, sitting and standing. Because of this, knee problems are among the most common reasons for an orthopedic consultation — and most are very manageable with the right diagnosis.

Structures

Ligament Problems

The knee has four main ligaments. Sprains range from mild stretching (grade I) to complete tears (grade III). A torn ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) often follows a twisting injury with a "pop" and swelling. Collateral and posterior ligaments also cause instability when injured.

Evaluation includes specific clinical tests, with MRI arranged only when it would change the treatment decision.

Cartilage

Meniscus Problems

The menisci are the C-shaped cartilage cushions of the knee. Injuries commonly cause pain along the joint line, swelling, and mechanical symptoms such as locking or catching — especially after a twisting movement. Small tears may settle with conservative care; larger or symptomatic tears may need further assessment.
